Tour 6: Annotating a Map with Georeferanced Coordinates: WaypointsYou can mark any spot on a map by positioning the cursor over the spot and pressing F2 (or Right-Click: Add to Waypoint List): The 'Edit Waypoint' dialog is shown and a coordinate annotation is placed at the cursor location: You can quickly add the cursor position, a text note (as shown), and control connecting lines. In addition to adding waypoints by right clicking on locations, you can enter them by hand using the 'Find Location' tool and in a HTML like markup language. Checkout [ Tour 7: Annotating Maps for Programmers ] for details. Coordinate Details TabSelect the 'Coordinate Details' tab for greater annotation control: You can nudge the coordinate by directly editing it's location. The 'GPS Name' is a short six character alphanumeric name for the coordinate that will be transferred to your GPS. If 'Auto Name' is checked then a name will be automatically generated from the Description. Each coordinate has three text fields that can be enabled separately: the GPS Name, Description, and Note. Both the Description and Note can have multiple lines. Checking Auto Inc or Dec instructs All Topo to increment or decrement the last number in the description. If Auto Inc is checked and the last Description was 'MP23' the next Description will be 'MP24'. %Tokens% (like %DMS%) in a Description or Note, will be replaced with the current value (N 63 25 50.751 W 150 49 9.068 in the example above.) Text Color, Font, Size, Rotation, Position about the Coordinate Location and background can also be controlled from the 'Coordinate Details' tab. The Symbol TabSelect the 'Symbol' tab to add a symbol over the coordinate location. Over 700 stock symbols are included, it's easy to add your own symbols too. In addition to plain marker dots and the stock symbols: squares, rectangles, circles, lines, ellipses, crosses, triangles and wind barbs can be added to a location. The Width and Height settings control symbol size. The Line TabYou can quickly add straight lines between coordinates with the 'Line' tab: Several line styles, widths and colors are available. When lines are turned on, both distance and area are accumulated and can be displayed by including a %miles% and %acres% tokens in a point's description: The Links TabUse the Links tab to add hyperlinks, and media content to a coordinate. Check 'Include this coordinate in the Slide Show' to add the coordinate to a list of views. Pressing the '*' key on the keypad views the first slide coordinate, keypad '-' and '+' move forward and backwards through the slide show.
