Q0010 Exporting Sec Twn Rng Annotations to Shapefiles without Diagonal LinesIf you search for a PLS (Township Range Section) location with the PLS Tool and check the 'Draw' box: and press the 'Add Annotation at Coordinate' box, you will get an annotation on the map: Now, if you export a shapefile (using "Annotations: Import/Export: Export Shapefile") you will get a shapefile that looks like this: Before we turn off the diagonal line (from the center of the box to the corner) let us first encourage you to NOT remove the diagonal line: Suppose you have a series of descriptions which plot this way: You can quickly see that the center 1/4 1/4 is NOT included in the description because: 1. There is not a dot in the center 2. There is not a diagonal line. If we get rid of the diagonal lines, then the image looks like this: There is NO indication that the center 1/4 1/4 is NOT included in the description.
