Q0001 All Topo Maps stalls while starting or loading annotation file!Q All Topo Maps appears to 'hang' for a moment while starting. Attempting to load an annotation file results in a long wait. A A drive letter may be mapped to an unavailable network resource. Start the Window's Explorer, then click on and view the contents of each network mapped drive. Insure that the contents are visible. Often a password will be required to make the resource available. Example: If a 'Map Data' source (see 'Map Sets Available From Fixed Drives: AK' below):
lists a source path, the viewer will check the source path for required map files before prompting for a CD. In this case the viewer looks for Alaska maps on drive S: in the '\AK' folder, which is disconnected. AllTopo makes the drive request and Windows 'hangs' while it attempts to connect to the drive with default passwords. In the following image, you can see that drive S: ('Md2 on ATM SERVER (Atm)') is shown as disconnected:
Click on the drive icon and Windows prompts for a password for the drive:
Enter the password and the drive will be available. Keywords: hangs slow loading unresponsive starting. U <1> 02/07/2005 07:46:23 PM -0500 |
